Bob Blair

Bob Blair studied Marine Engineering at Glasgow College of Nautical Studies. He started on the day it officially opened, 4 October 1969, meeting Admiral of the Fleet Louis Mountbatten, 1st Earl Mountbatten of Burma.

A member of the Student Council, Bob’s time at college was sponsored by his then employer, Ben Line, one of the leading shipping companies operating trade routes between Europe and the Far East.

Derek Dunn started studying at the Glasgow College of Nautical Studies in August 1969.

Originally from North Berwick, East Lothian, he came to Glasgow to study his OND Mechanical Engineering in order to further a career at sea.

Originally from Tyneside, Phil enrolled as a Shell cadet at Glasgow College of Nautical Studies to study engineering.
